Stranger Things, our beloved 80's sci-fi series, decided to drop a surprise season 4 trailer on Valentine's Day (how thoughtful!). Twitter, home to the many fandoms that exist, could not contain their excitement when a familiar face appeared.
That's right! Hopper – the one we thought was gone for good after what happened in the season 3 finale – was spotted working on some tracks in the snow with other people in what seemed to be a basecamp.
Titled "With Love From Russia," the 50-second clip gave us some clues about the fate that happened to Jim Hopper. If you remember, during the Stranger Things season 3 finale, we are left in the air about his status. Joyce, whom he had been working with to stop the machines built by the Russians as a gate to the Upside Down, had pulled the switch a little too early when destroying it, leaving us to believe he had died – that is until now...
During a post-credit scene of the last episode, we find ourselves in a jail where a prisoner is being chosen by some guards to feed a Demogorgon, which is where we hear one of the guards say "No, not the American." That American could have been Hopper and with the new teaser and a few connect-the-dots, it's safe to assume he is alive and imprisoned in Russia.
Now we're left with more questions than answers regarding the fate of one Jim Hopper.
