Charli D'Amelio Joins Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show

Updated: Mar 12, 2020

The queen of TikTok talked dancing past, cyberbullying, and what she has in store for the future.

"In less than a year, you have 35 million followers on TikTok...you have over 2 billion likes...and you were actually featured in a Superbowl commercial!" Those were just a few of the accomplishments Jimmy read in his introduction of the TikTok star.

Charli recalls her first moment of fame on the app after uploading a dance video which slowly started to gain attention. "That's it I'm famous," she joked on reaching her first 50,000 likes.

Like any other person who gets a taste of fame, the first question is "What am I going to do next?" That's exactly what Charli thought. "I can't post what I normally post now," she tells Jimmy. From then, her TikTok content has been full of dance trends and collaborations with fellow members of the "Hype House" – you know the house where Charli lives in LA with other TikTok stars. Her hard work certainly shows in her posts as she's been dancing since she was 3! Talk about a star in the making!

With fame, there always comes a price. Charli gets candid about how cyberbullying has affected her.

She recalls cyberbullying hurting the same it does now as it did when she "was in school and someone would comment "Oh, you're ugly!'" under one of her posts. Charli doesn't let this stop her, however. She's teamed up with her fellow TikTok star/sister Dixie D'Amelio and UNICEF to raise awareness on cyberbullying for Internet Safety Day.

Jimmy then asked Charli of her future plans, almost getting her to reveal an unannounced tour. "I can't give all the details," she teases, "we have something planned for the summer where I'm going to, hopefully, be able to meet a lot of fans."

Charli ends her appearance on the show by showing off her moves in a TikTok with Jimmy, take a look!
