Dua Lipa took to Instagram to announce she will be releasing her sophomore album Future Nostalgia earlier than we expected. The singer moved the album's release date to March 27, giving us something positive to look forward to this Friday!
"I'm really excited about [it] and I'm really happy it's coming out and I'm really excited for you all to hear it," she said during her Instagram live. This news comes following the news that her album getting leaked online over the weekend. Whether this provoked the singer to move up the release date is unclear. The singer added that she was unsure on releasing it altogether due to the current state of the world. "over the past couple of weeks – just of the uncertainty of everything – I've been a little bit conflicted about putting music out whether its the right thing to do because lots of people are suffering," she explained.
Lipa was very emotional at the beginning of her live, frequently taking pauses and sniffling.
Not all news has to be bad, however, the singer said that dates for her upcoming UK and Europe leg of the tour would be released this Tuesday. "New tour dates for the UK and Europe will be coming out tomorrow 10:00 am London time," she announced. As for the rest of the world, she explains "obviously I've had to postpone my tour and you know we've all been rehearsing for so long and I was so excited...We have been trying to figure out when is the best time to kind of carry on with the new dates."
Lipa goes on to explain the importance of social distancing telling her fans "to really stay safe, to encourage people to stay inside to understand the leverage of this virus and this disease, and that, you know, if we all want to stay inside we would really be making a massive difference!"
The singer ends her live thanking everyone for sticking around during the waterworks stating she has been feeling "quite anxious and emotional."
