Twitter makes a 280 character limit available for all users. That's double the 140 character limit we're used to.

The popular social media platform decided to test the new character limit last month in September to select twitter handles.

In the social media’s blog, the product manager and senior software engineer released a statement regarding the long-awaited character change.

“When people don’t have to cram their thoughts into 140 characters and actually have some to spare, we see more people Tweeting – which is awesome!” said Rosen and Ihara.

Today it finally became official.

Many of the users had mixed reactions from the sudden change.

E News! was quick to tweet a clever headline while taking advantage of the new feature.

However, Chrissy Tiegen did not seem so thrilled about the change.

Some users decided to use this chance to spread a little positivity.

Other users used this change to make a PSA on important matters.

Law and Order were very excited to tweet their full opening line. The tweet has since gone viral, amounting over 69,000 retweets and 119,000 favorites and counting.

This user expressed his excitement for the new feature with a twist to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song.

How will your tweets change with the new update?
