Gal Gadot posts a star-studded Instagram video in response to Coronavirus forcing people to self-quarantine.
The Wonder Woman star gathered a few big names from Hollywood including Kristen Wiig, James Marsden, Sarah Silverman, Amy Adams, Mark Ruffalo, and more. "We are in this together, we will get through it together. Let’s imagine together," Gal said in her IGTV post, "Sing with us ❤ All love to you, from me and my dear friends."
But what was meant to be a lighthearted video to lift our spirits began receiving a lot of backlash. At first, when you enter the comment section on Instagram, it's full of positive messages from fellow celebrities. "This is so beautiful ❤," said the Oscar-nominated Jessica Chastain. Ex-Fifth Harmony Member Ally Brooke adds "Love you so much Gal! You really are Wonder Woman."
However, once you get past all the verified users, you reach the section where fans did not feel the same as the other celebrities did. One user said "Instead of singing how about you guys donate? You seem to be some of the richest in the country." Others who also disagreed delivered their criticism in a nicer way "This may be a nice gesture. But what we need right now are donations...Please consider using your platform to be more helpful," said another user.
Twitter users also called out the people who appeared in the video for being "condescending" and accusing celebrities of being "self-righteous."
As of now, Gal has not responded to the backlash and continues to post positive fan videos recreating her "Imagine" video to her Instagram story.
